The documentary EXPO 67, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE offers a portrait of the dedicated, obstinate and visionary men, Robert Shaw, Yves Jasmin, Philippe de Gaspé and a few others, who created the largest world exposition in history from scratch. People thought they would fail. The first organizing committee resigned. The speculators were getting restless. Ottawa and Quebec City hesitated to pay for a one-time event that would have cost more than every bridge in Montreal combined. Despite the endless hassles from the Lester B. Pearson office, the rebukes from René Lévesque and the quasi-sabotage operation from reporters, everything was ready for opening day on April 28, 1967. Six completely insane months followed: 183 days during which they succeeded in overcoming every obstacle.
