I am being told to subscribe through iTunes even though I have an account on my Apple TV?

First, try logging out and then logging in again. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you must reset or restore your Apple TV.

  • Select Settings > General > Reset.
  • Choose Reset All Settings: This option resets your settings, including your accounts and configurations.
  • Keep your Apple TV plugged into power until the Reset process finishes. Then you can set up your Apple TV again.

If that does not work, please try this:

  • Select Settings > General > Reset.
  • Choose Restore: This option returns your Apple TV to its factory settings and installs software updates. This option requires Internet.
  • Keep your Apple TV plugged into power until the Reset process finishes. Then you can set up your Apple TV again.
